Get rid of popups after windows starts

Hi,
My XP professional popups some ads(ie browsers with only the blue bar, I
believe) every time I turn on the computer. I used Spybot and Ad-Aware to
delete quite a lot hidden stuff. However, the ads still show up without
opening any software. Any idea to find out reason?

Hi,

I'm guessing you have a DSL or cable connection, in which case this is most
likely messenger spam. Run services.msc and scroll down to Messenger, double
click it and set the startup type to Disabled, Go ahead and click Stop while
you are here to shut the service down. This should do away with those
popups.
