Get External Data

Hello again, folks..

Under <FILE> the 'Get External Data choice is grayed-out,
and unuseable.

Looking around for a 'Preferences' or 'Options' list, I found
a grayed-out 'Options" button under the <TOOLS> menu
choice.

What gives? What do I need to do to enable some of
these features?

You must have a database file open in order to bring data into it or change
the database options. You can either open an existing database or create a
new one by using the File -> Open menu or the File -> New menu.
