Start Outlook with the /cleanreminders switch and see if you can dismiss it
now.

No problem, I'm actually creating a tool right now to help with that ;-)
For now;
Start-> Run; "path to outlook.exe" /cleanreminders

Note that you need to change the path to Outlook.exe and that the path is
captured in quotes (") but not the switch itself.

i'm not sure if i am doing this correctly. I am running windows XP home
edition and I have gone to START and then to RUN and have typed in "path to
outlook.exe"/cleanreminders and then pressed ENTER.
I then get a message "windows cannot find "path to
outlook.exe"/cleanreminders. Make sure you typed name correctly."
What am i doing wrong? Thank you for your patience.

As I said; change your path to outlook.exe
It will probably look something like this for you;
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\outlook.exe" /cleanreminders

Actually, the path is not required, just typing in start->run->outlook.exe
/cleanreminders works just as well as the full path.

True, as long as outlook.exe is mentioned in App Paths.

I am also running Outlook 2003, and have the same issue with a phantom
reminder for a meeting that no longer exists in my calendar. However, even
after completing the start->run->outlook.exe /cleanreminders step, the
reminder continues to pop up every time I open Outlook, and every time my
screen savor is activated. Is there any other way to get rid of it?
