Genuine Windows XP problem

HI all,
First of all, I have never ran into this problem before because I have
always purchased open licensing from Microsoft.
We have bought out a small company and inherited their computers. They are
P4's and are clones. When I decided to redo the software and run the windows
update then I discovered that the Windows XP Pro is not a genuine copy. My
question is: Is there a way to use one of my open licenses on this machine
without having to re-install windows xp?
I installed a open licenses copy of Office 2003 and it said it was genuine
but would not let me download the updates for it either.
I just don't want to have to re-install because it may be difficult to find
all the hardware drivers.
Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Given the information you have given - my suggestion is to completely format
with your legitimate software.

Again - you would be better off and have less troubleshooting issue later if
you started out properly with your own normal homogenous setup.
