"Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs
to close."

Anyone know how to deal with this error message?

It pops up 'sometimes' when I start up my computer.

But.. if I re-boot it goes away.. till next time.

Thx for any and all help in this matter

Hi,

I've been getting exactly the same error as you for a while now. It's
intermittent, and while researching the issue (on google!) I came across a
website which said that the Feb 2005 windows updates were to blame, and that
Microsoft know about the problem and are working on it. Click on 'send' when
you get the fault, and you should be given the opportunity to provide them
with more info. I uninstalled the Feb 2005 updates (all 9 of them) about a
week
ago and haven't had the problem since. Click on 'add/remove programs' on
your control panel, click on 'show updates' at the top of the window, and
scroll down to 'windows updates' where you can uninstall them. Take a 'system
restore' point prior to doing this incase you want to undo your actions.
You'll be asked to restart after some of the installations.

Keep your virus defns up-to-date and rule out any virus activity first.
Then wait for Microsoft to fix the problem, or buy a mac instead :)

Hope this helps.

Does anyone know if Microsoft has corrected this error? Would we lose much by
uninstalling the Feb2005 updates?
