Generic Host Process for Win32 Services encountered and needed to close"
szAppName : svchost.exe szAppVer : 0.0.0.0 szModName : unknown
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000 "

I get this message on about every 3rd start up . I ran virus and spam
software and nothing comes up. I have a firewall. No new programs
installed etc. I can't find anything on this - not sure what I have here

This is EXACTLY the same problem i have started getting recently. Exactly the
same and i have run Ad Aware, Microsoft Antispy, my up to date Antivirus and
also Stinger and they all show up clean so this one is baffling me. I have
also run the Trend Micro scan online and again, nothing. PLEASE can anyone
help?

I am running Service Pack 2 with Xp Home and i always do critical updates.

I would really love to know what this is and how to get rid of the message.

I got also a "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services and needed to close"
a few days ago and I ran on demand "BitDefender Free"
and found the following virus "Adware.wheaterbug.A".
The on access Avast4 scanner didn't stop the virus probably because it came
thru a messenger in use.
BitDefender couldn't disinfect, move or delete.
I tried to find some information and I found on the Norton site only
information about the
"Adware wheaterbug" and *not* for "Adware wheaterbug.A"
