general tab

The general tab in my internet tools is gone. My home page
was changed to a search engine. I managed to change it to
msn.com but thats not the home page I want. My problem is
that the Tab for general options under internet tools is
not there. If anyone could tell me how to get it back it
would be appreciated, thanks

Joe,
I encountered the same problem and still not figured out
the solution. I downloaded spyware but that did not
correct it. Also the IE service pack did not correct.
Let me know if you are more successfil.
thanks,

Here's something I found that might work - navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel, in the registry. With control
panel highlighted delete GeneralTab on the right.

Get and run these programs (if you test after each one you can stop when the
problem is gone):
Ad-Aware:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com
Once installed make sure to update via online before scanning!
and
SpyBot - Search & Destroy -
http://security.kolla.de/
http://security.kolla.de/index.php?lang=en&page=download
http://spybot.eon.net.au/
http://www.tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/
Once installed make sure to update via online before scanning!
and
BHO Demon: http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/bhod/

Until the problem is solved.

If none of these programs fix it try this:

Restore All Tabs under Internet Options
