Tools - General Tab

When I go to Internet Options > Tools, I do not have
a "general" tab anymore. Also, my home page was MSN.com
and it is now Toshiba.com, and I cannot switch it back
without a general tab.

You have spyware/parasite/hijacker. Temporary fix is to use regedit.exe and
delete key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel" and
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control
Panel" with all subkeys. The parasite will propably hide the general tab
again, if you don't get rid of it.

Reset the Internet Explorer tabs and remove all the browser restrictions.

as well


The problem is due to a spyware. Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com,
scan the system and eliminate the malware products. Re-apply the above fix
if necessary.
** Remember to update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware **
