general protection fault caused by IEXPLORE

since installing a new hard drive, on which i can install
all my previous programs, i am getting a general
protection fault in module USER.EXE at 001c:000013b8 when
i try to log on to my home page which is ninemsn.com.au. I
can access other web sites, yahoo and microsoft for
example. I have reformatted the disk and reinstalled only
windows 98 and the software for the cable modem. Any
suggestions would be very much appreciated.
