Hi All...

I am currently working in a course where the final
project is comparing the features and uses of Windows XP,
Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003. Through the use of
websites and Microsoft's features pages, my team and I
have found most of the information we need. The one
question I can't answer though, is, is XP cross-platform
compatible? In the features of 2000, it states
specifically that 2000 will support the UNIX OS but I
can't find a reference to such in the XP features.

Thanks

If you're asking if XP can connect to other non-MS operating systems in the
mixed environment, the answer is yes.

Be sure to compare Win2k Server to Win2k3, and Win2k Pro to WinXP Pro,
otherwise you'll be comparing a server OS with a Desktop OS.

Hi Mike and All who responded...I appreciate the
information and it is just what I needed. Mike, I am not
sure I understand what you are saying about answering e-
mails..I did not email a question to you, only posted on
this group. Methinks someone used my e-mail address if
that is the case. I have gotten e-mails from myself
recently that were sent by outside parties.

Thanks again

The comment about e-mail is just part of my signature line.
As a Microsoft employee I cannot receive or respond to the large numbers of
unsolicited questions that I receive.
And it is a general point about it being better to post here so all can
learn from the questions and answers.

It was not directed to you.
