General authentication failed

I am having problems with Windows Mail in Vista. I am having problems sending
mail. Some of the errors are "General authentication failed. None of the
authentication methods supported by your IMAP server are supported on this
computer. Also, I did manage to sent one email only to have an error message
state that it could not put it in Sent Messages Folder. Can anyone help?

This newsgroup is short on IMAP experts, so you may have to wait longer
for a useful answer than most of the other people who report problems
here.

If you have access to some other newsgroups server, you may find it
useful to ask in the following newsgroup also:

comp.mail.imap

Mention that you're having the problem in Windows Mail under Vista,
in case this affects your answer.
