General and language-specific Autocorrect

Hi,
I sometimes use different languages for writing. However, not all languages
have identical autocorrection phrases. For example, "e.g.," is an English
expression while "z.B." is German. It would be nice to have both two, instead
of one now, autocorrections: one that contains autocorrection phrases for all
languages, and one that contains autocorrection phrase for each specific
language.

Actually, AutoCorrect is always language-specific. Try setting your text to
a different language. You should notice that none of your AutoCorrections
work anymore.

However, you need to have the text formatted in the correct language (select
text, go to Tools | Language) beforehand, so that Word knows which
AutoCorrect file it should be using. In addition, when you create the
AutoCorrect entry, Word will add it to the ACL file for the language
currently in use where your cursor is. If you look at the top of the dialog
box, it will say AutoCorrect: German or AutoCorrect: English (US). You may
accidentally have created German autocorrects in your English list.

If you let Word use "automatic language dectection", I'm not sure how this
makes a difference.
