Geforce FX 5600 locks up on games

I have a Geforce FX 5600 that worked great when using
windows 98 SE and ME. I have just installed windows XP
pro.. and run all the updates and downloaded the newest
video drivers but every time I try running a game
(warcraft 3, star wars galaxies, ect...) it completely
locks up my computer. Thanks for any help!

Hi Billy,

Don't forget to update your chipset drivers from the manufacture's
site as well. Too often that's overlooked and causes these issues.

well we have almost the same video card and msi support

sucks i have this problem on 4 msi machines right now
they wont release the code to fix this so my suggestion
is what i did on these computers update your video bios
and all your other drivers after the bios then try it it
probably wont so then if it dosent you have to uninstall
your video driver only restart and install an older
driver try it and work your way threw the list the only
stable 1 i found for the card closest to yours is 2.1.8.3
9/14/2001 this 1 may not work for your but should becuse
msi has 1 driver for all video cards basically give that
a try hope it helped to get u gamin again....see you on
