Geforce 6600 wont install

Ive bought my father a geforce 6600, however when i installed it, his pc fails to regonise the new hardware (acer aspire T160) The t160 has onbored graphics 6100, any ideas as to what I need to do,thanks
ps uninstalled drivers for the 6100 and installed the latest from the nvidia site

From what I can work out here, you need to disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS.

Hit del or f2 during boot, disable onboard video, reboot, install new vid card drivers.
