gateway professional V866SE and WinXP

When trying to upgrade this PC to XP the PC receives a
page fault error during the installation. We added
memory, replaced the memory, formated the drive, no
help. Will this PC run XP? Does XP have problems with
some known PC's/processors? This has Intell 866 PIII w/
256M of memory.

NO, the problem is not from the processor. Earlier P-III motherboards
sometimes need a BIOS upgrade in order for XP to be able to go thru.

Well 2 more options or a few more, call Gateway, or have
you thought about updating your system bios
