I can't seem to figure out how to get my Gateway notebook keyboard to stop
typing nothing but numbers and the random letter when I try and use it.
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some laptops have a key or combination of 2 keys that turns the keyboard
into an alternate KB, if you pressed it, the keys generate unexpected
characters.
Read the manual & see if your KB has such a key or combination of keys.
Otherwise you may just have a bad keyboard.

Use a bootdisk to boot to dos to see if it's a windows problem or a
hardware problem.

Carefully look at the keys to make sure none are stuck in the down position

Hold down the "Blue Fn" key at the same time as the "Scroll" (Numlock key).
It enables the numlock function changing the" u, i, o, p, j, k, l, ;, m, .,
/" to a simulated numeric keypad. I discovered that while using remote
desktop once. After I turned on a bright desk lamp I saw what happened.
Otherwise those faint blue letters on black keys are not very noticeable.
