Installing XP on Gateway Notebook

G

Gabriel Oriol

Hi,

I have an MT3707 Gateway Notebook which came with Vista. I
uninstalled it and installed XP. After a lot of headaches I have fixed
all of the driver issues except for the video.

The notebook comes with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M and I can't find a
driver that works for XP.

I'm thinking of installing a driver from any other manufacturer or a
similar option. Can anybody help me? Has anybody had the same problem?

Thanks,

Gabriel

If neither Gateway nor ATI will provide a WinXP-specific driver for the
video adapter, it's almost certain that no one else will. Another
manufacturer's drivers for different video adapters certainly won't work.

Buy an nVidia card that has XP drivers or just install Ubuntu when the
new one comes out in April that has all the drivers for both ATI and
nVidia. You can learn about Ubuntu at www.ubuntu.com
