Unverified, but posted early today - A quote from B. Gates on
AntiSpyware licensing.

""Gates also announced during his keynote address that Microsoft
will deliver the personal version of Windows AntiSpyware for free.""

If that's correct, it's a smart decision on their (MS) part.

Thanks for the link. Actually the clincher quote from Gates in that
article would be:

"We have looked hard at the nature of this problem and have made the
decision that this antispyware product will be available at no
additional cost to Windows users," Gates said.

I bet MS will get sued over that one!

"Trustworthy Computing" is only another example of an Oxymoron!

Apparently MS is going to offer free personal antivirus software as
well. I cannot imagine that the Symantecs, McAffees, Computer
Associates, and Trend Micros of the world are going to be too pleased
about that, either.

Won't matter. Symantic and McAfee will still be around because
Microsoft will screw their antispyware up, and cripple it, so that
an outside solution will be needed. Right now it works because it
is still Giant Software. Microsoft's coders haven't started
messing it up, yet.

Haha! Yes they've already screwed it up. It doesn't scan cookies, it
issues false positives because it scans based on filenames instead of
file content, and it is full of typos and cosmetic glitches.
