Garmin GPS 35 USB trouble

When I try to install this device, Windows installs the GPS as Microsoft Ball
mouse. My mouse then go crazy all over the screen. I called Garmin to get
update drivers and they said the drivers are the same. I uninstalled and
reinstalled with no luck. Windows doesn't even ask me for a disk with the
drivers. Garmin said it is a windows probelm. Any assistance to resolve
this problem is greatly appriciated.
