Heres how we tried to pull a dead tree out of the ground this morning...

Were not rednecks, honest!

The beastly turbocharged tank was no match for a maculloch 2 stroke chainsaw, a fork, spade, and the combined strength of my dad and i :D

It was great fun... the abuse we give that car - it still goes!

My father is a very ingenious bloke :D

It was halarious watching the tree get the better of the car... the car was rocking back and forward (suprised the tyres kept traction) and then the exhaust just started to smoke really quite badly so we decided that was probably enough abuse for the day. After all we needed it to take the damned tree and roots to the dump in!

No - its not. Its P-Number Number Number H-Letter Letter

Aparently its not a great idea to show registration numbers on photos on the internet so i edited it a little ;)

Thought it looked a bit odd!! - I was worried that if you became a traffic cop, you would have to report your Dad....

On a point of health & safety did you wear protection when undertaking the chainsaw work, just as an ex-highly trained chainsaw operator/council lacky, they are dangerous bits of kit and chainsaw protection trousers, boots & bone-dome should have been used.

I think he wore eye goggles :)

Ciri - Sure why not... The Volvo has 226,000 miles on it atm, another 14,000 can't hurt.

**he goes away to develop some kind of flotation device for a motorvehicle**

Oh its all good fun

You should've seen us a couple of years ago taking out a hardwood that was also getting cosy with the foundations of the house. The wood was so dense & heavy that when we were lowereing the branches down we dropped one that was only about as thick as John's arm & it shattered the concrete path into pieces literally. The trunk was so heavy that we had to section it on the tree & lower it piece by piece & once down we had to cart the b*stard down the back paddock for seasoning. I have never encountered wood that heavy in my entire life. Didn't know wood could BE that heavy & I've done plenty of carpentry in my time.
It made good firewood though;). Burned long & slow & kept us cosy last winter.
