Black Wolf Standing

When I go to connect to my ISP (AOL), My modem dials,
makes a connection, then it stops when negotiating with
network.
Exact Error message is: Please check your settings and
try again. If the problem persists, please restart your
machine.
I try to connect with a different ISP (Wal-Mart connect),
My modem dials, makes a connection, then nothing... It
stops at a prompt which says: step 5: negotiating with
network.
I tried to "check my settings" and neither of my
connections appeared in the "Network connections" window.

Update on my problem.
I'm tired of working on this problem for three days and
getting nowhere. I tried to Re-Install Windows and use
the installation CD to repair the original installation.

When Windows tried to connect to their activation server
it came back with message number 32777.

Update on my problem...

My system is a Dell Dimension 2400.
Dell support was totally clueless.
When I asked for driver specific to their computer, they
gave me the run around.
I got better response from people emailing me privately.
I would like to thank everyone who helped.
