GAP ON SIDE OF DESK TOP SCREEN

My Desktop screen does not quite reach the left hand side leaving a small
black strip about 1/4" wide. If I run the mouse arrow into that strip,
without pressing either mouse button it brings up Desktop shortcuts, There
are no buttons in the top right corner to close these shortcuts and if you
right click the mouse there is no means to delete. How do I return my
screen to normal please.

Are you using wallpaper? Try stretching the current wallpaper. Display
Properties> Desktop has the control for this.

If the wallpaper is already stretched, try a different setting - tile or
center. Apply the setting. Then change back to stretching the wallpaper.

If still no luck, try a different wallpaper - one that has dimensions equal
to or greater than your desktop.

Got another idea after reading your post again. If this is a toolbar, you
can remove it by right clicking in an empty area of the band and selecting
Close. Or right click on the taskbar and select Toolbars. Then click on
Desktop to remove the desktop toolbar from its current position.

There are adjustment buttons on your monitor to resize the screen. Consult
your manual.
