Gap between bottom of detail and top of footer !?!

I have a subform within a form. The form has only a detail section of height 5
The subform within it has a header of .2917" a detail of 2.8417" and a footer of .4167", a total of 3.55"
If I try to change the height of the main form it always reverts back to 5

However, when the screen is displayed, the total height looks to be about 6.5-7" and there is a gap between the subform detail and footer of about 1.5" blank spac

I've tinkered with this for ages and can't seem to eliminate the space between the bottom of the subform detail and the top of the footer. Is there any way to do this

You are dealing with two sizes. The size of the form sections and the size of
the window displaying the form. If the window is made taller you get a gap
because the footer is anchored to the bottom of the window while the rest is
anchored to the top of the window. To reduce the gap make the window shorter
(not the form).
