Whenever I click on a game at "www.popcap.com," a new
window loads and shows the surrounding logos, but not the
actual game. What is wrong?

Does that site require a Java VM (virtual machine) be installed in your
computer? Windows XP doesn't come with one because of a lawsuit with Sun.
Install Sun's JVM at http://java.com/en/index.jsp.

I tried downloading Java, and it still doesn't work. I
also downloaded a new shockwave and flash player, but it
just won't load. The site doesn't specify what type of
program it uses to run.

Got a firewall? Tried disabling?

Got an ad blocker (that's not part of the firewall)? Tried disabling it?

What error occurs when you try to install the latest Flash player
(http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=S
hockwaveFlash)?

I tried disabling McAfee and my ad blocker (just the
google toolbar).
When I try to download the flash player, I'm supposed to
get an "install now" button to download it. The button
wasn't even visible on the screen! I don't know if that
means I had it installed, but I downloaded it from
download.com instead and the site still didn't work.

Is the Internet Zone security level set to its default settings?

What BHOs (Browser Helper Objects) have been added to IE? Use BHO Demon to
find out (don't remember their web site but a Google search should find it).
With BHO Demon, you can disable the BHOs without having to uninstall them.

Tried using msconfig.exe to perform a clean boot?

Have you fully cleared the browser's temp file cache? Cookies, too?
