I have installed all Windows Updates as well with installing SP2. I have
PCTools Registry Doctor that runs often. MS AntiSpyware, ZoneAlarm Internet
Security w/ Antivirus, TuneUp Utilities 2006, all run often as well (normally
daily). I have the following hardware:
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium MB
AMD 64 Athlon X2 4200+ CPU
Geil 2GB Dual-Channel DDR400 RAM
BFG GeForce 6800GT OC 256MB 16x PCI-e
Ultra X-Connect 500W 20-pin PSU
Now to my problem:
Almost everytime I open a fullscreen game, it freezes and forces me to
manually reboot the computer. This has happened in Sims 2 and C&C Generals
Zero Hour. Although I still have other games on this computer that I have
not tried out yet but the ammount of times that this has happened deserves
complaining about. I definitely have the hardware to support this but the
freezing shows otherwise. THe only thing that I see could be a possibility
is, my power supply has 20-pin power connector and my mobo has a 24-pin
connector. I had to buy an additional 20-to-24 pin connector to provide
power to the additional 4 pins. I do plan to purchase a bettter PS in the
near future but am simply waiting for prices to drop. Any other ideas for
me..? Has anyone had a similar problem like this b4 and can help me out?
