Gameport Support

Greetings!!!

When will Mircosoft add the Gameport Support to Windows Vista?
Or When will they allow workarounds to get a gameport working?

I do have 2 Microsoft Sidewinder ForceFeedback Joysticks with Gameport-Plug.
They were expensive but worth it, since they still work like the first day
(oh time goes by) 9 years ago.

And, the only known working gameport-usb adapter for sidewinders is not
produced anymore. About the "we make the first and only space with a mouse
game and tell nobody need joysticks anymore, so we also stop producing"
Illness we better not talk....

I know many do still use gameport joysticks.

So

When will Mircosoft add the Gameport Support to Windows Vista?
Or When will they allow workarounds to get a gameport working?
What do we have to do to make them do?

Can Microsoft maybe produce a gameport-to-sub converter for the Sidewinder FF
1 Series? I´d pay some money for such things. Me and many others dont want to
loose theese sticks.

You do realize that you are asking questions of non-Microsoft employees,
don't you? We only know whatever Microsoft decides to allow the public to
know.

As for getting a nine year old joystick to work, my suggestion is to be
grateful that it worked that long. I've got a three or four year old scanner
that will not work in Vista. And I'm not sure I can get my printer fully
functional either. Same age equipment - purchased because the former printer
and scanner wouldn't work with XP.

I do!!! But i dont have 63€ just to ask one question to support directly.
2-3 questions and i got a new equal joystick....

So this is the only chance to ask and tell for free as they dont even offer
a normal 12 cent per minute hotline.

Chances are even if you paid you wouldn't get a definitive answer to your
question. ;-)

Proof of Useless Microsoft Support

I visited CeBit on Friday.
Microsoft Infosdesk: Hardware support for Vista you find there....
i go there
Microsoft Guy: oh, no here is office. Go round corner, there you find help.
i go there
Microsoft Guy: Oh, no, im not with hardware. but ask him, he can help you.
i go there.
Microsoft Guy i was pointed to: oh, no, i`m only here by mistake, i am from
another boost. But ask him, with the glasses, we will definitly helpt you, he
knows everything with hardware.
i go there.
Microsoft Guy with glasses: Oh, no, sorry but i cant help you. This Guy
there is Supporter. He will help you.
i go there....

after 3 more of this i gave up.

At this point, i only asked those listed above, for help with a hardware
problem, an info request. nothing specific, no word yet about gameport. just
died while trying to find someone to help at all.....

sorry, but Microsoft Support SUCKS

i prey that at microsoft never the light breaks or darkness will be standard.
Microsoft porduces first and only ever mouse-flying space sim and announces
that nobody needs joysticks anymore as no games for joystick will come
anymore and cancels Joystick production.
Microsoft announces end of Gameport as nobody needs it anymore.

oh, yes, you can connect them with a gameport to usb connecter EXCEPT
EXLUSIVE the MICROSOFT SIDEWINDER FF Pro Series.

Further comments of mine would bann me from microsoft sides....

Have fun

General Paul
