GAME VOICE PROBLEM

My M/S game voice has developed a fault in that it will
not start.it auto checks the sound card and an error
comes up code 0x80004005 i have asked M/S support for
help and was told to alter the regestry values, each time
I try to start Game voice it self tests the sound card
and round in circles we go, ALL sensable suggestions
welcomed . thanks
