my star wars galactic battlegrounds game hangs and crashes after 2 mins or
less consistantly. in normal start up or in safe boot using ms config. but
runs fine when booted in safe mode from an f8 restart. ms says its a driver
prob, but doesnt say which one. but i like this game........help!

ahh, a worthy try. alas after starting verifier, and choosing "select all
windows drivers" finishing and rebooting, windows will not sucessfully
restart, and hard crashes back to reboot, over and over until i reboot (f8)
in safe mode, run verifier again then delete all changes. even after that
though there are problems with apps like IE. so i sys restore to an earlier
time to recover completeley from the attempt. Next?

well, i have a crash dump file that recorded THAT problem... i wonder if the
failed verifier run problem is the same as the swgb prob though. and how do i
use this crash dump(b) file to my advantage?

ah, you obviously think from my intelligent banter that i have any clue as to
what i'm doing. this is not the case. Pray tell, where is the alleged "crash
dump file" located?--
My brain hurts....

c:\windows\minidump

Type in Help

Small Memory Dump

for an overview.

Windows has to trust drivers for normal running else everything would be slow. If you turn verifier on windows starts monitoring the drivers which means it can better identify the faulty one. Of course it may be another faulty driver where the fault is not hit in normal operation, in which case fix that problem and use verifier again.

yea! i disabled my nvidia display driver and the game now appears to run
properly. thanks so much for all your help!
