game requires Win 98, ME, or XP - what can I do

I am running Win2kPro. This new computer game we got for
my son says it requires Win 98, ME, or XP. I tried
installing it with my current configuration of W2KPro with
SP2 and it installs fine and the games comes up like it is
ready to play and then it just quits all of a sudden - goes
back to Desktop .
Are there utilities or app's or tools or emulators that
will allow us to get this game running (and other games)
that require Win 98 or ME or XP? Without buying XP at the
moment?

Since XP really uses the same kernel as 2000 does (it just adds bells and
whistles, mainly cosmetic), I find this odd. Have you contacted the game
developer?

You should be on SP4 for W2000, by the way.

developer yet. I am downloading SP4 as I type this. Do
you think this will help fix this problem with this game
not playing? Why would a game developer say their game
plays in Win 98, ME, and XP, but not in Win2000?

It's a Good Thing. Of course, you'll back up your data first, because you do
that regularly anyway, right?
