Game port not being recognized

Hello,

I recently built a really nice machine based on the Asus A8N SLI Deluxe
motherboard. I added an AMD 64 Athlon X2 CPU and Windows XP 64 bit. This
latter one probably being the cause of my problem but there may be a simple
solution out there that I don't know about. So here's the problem: this
motherboard comes with a USB/MIDI attachment that has a game port on it (2
USB ports and 1 MIDI/Game port). I installed the attachment and connected
an old MS sidewinder joystick to the gameport but the system does not seem
to recognize it. I looked at the device manager and it says that no drivers
are installed for this device. I downloaded the latest Realtek drivers from
the ASUS website but no luck there either. Does anyone know if there are
drivers out there that would allow me to use my old joystick? If not, I
guess I'll have to get a USB joystick.

Thanks,

D. Castano

Same Mobo with a single core 3200 in it. MS Sidewinder working in both
Windows and Linux with the original BIOS. Have you checked the midi
connector on the motherboard, it will fit even though it doesn't cover
the last two pins.
