Hi Grandmom56,
I agree that the 9000 is not listed in the release notes, however
when selecting to download a Windows XP driver for the 9000
it brings us directly to this page, so it *should* be compatible.

| Jimmy,
| My adapter is a Radeon 9000. When I went to the new driver website, it took
| me to the Catalyst 6.11 driver. In the release notice it shows what this
| driver supports, and the Radeon 9000 is not listed there. Does that mean I
| can't use it on my computer?

|| Hi Grandmom56,
||
|| Hardware issues can cause freezing, black screens and other
|| errors. Also, your drivers should always be kept up to date.
||
|| Try the following steps one at a time to try and resolve the issue.
|| I hope this helps. Please post back if you have any questions!

||
|| 1. Update DirectX and your Chipset, Sound, &Video Drivers:
|| For all Video / DirectX / Game and Hardware Issues, I have a
|| Checklist of Solutions at:
http://NibblesNbitsVideo.tk
||
|| 2. Dust your fans, vents and components using a 1/4" paintbrush
|| and a hose vacuum. Use compressed air for hard to reach places.
|| Set a housefan to blow cold air into your case to expose an over-
|| heating issue.. If it works add more fans or replace defective ones.
|| Use this Motherboard Monitor Utility:
http://mbm.livewiredev.com
||
|| 3. A faulty power supply can cause STOP errors, random reboots,
|| and black screen lockups. One way to test for that is to check the
|| wattage sticker on your power supply and then calculate your need
||
http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/  (Min. 350 for gaming)
||
|| 4. Test your RAM using:

||| Jimmy,
||| The games are Monopoly Tycoon, and Pet Vet Paws and Claws. The computer does
||| not restart automatically as the power shuts clear off, and to restart it, I
||| have to disconnect the power source for about 20 seconds, the turn the power
||| back on, and start the computer. I went to the web site you had posted and
||| saw that a CD burning program by Roxio has caused some trouble. My husband
||| installed Roxio Easy CD and DVD on our computer here while back. We
||| uninstalled it the other day, but the problem still exsists. What do you
||| think?

|||| Hi Grandmom56,
||||
|||| Which games are affecting your system in this manner?
|||| Does your computer restart afterwards automatically?
|||| If so ... To stop this behavior go to Control Panel / System / Advanced /
|||| Click the Startup and Recovery Settings button / Uncheck the box
|||| labelled "Automatically restart" under the System Failure section.
||||
|||| To analyze the error, try the steps in:
http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm
||||
|||| If the error indicates a file name that begins with ati, or nv (nVidia)
|||| the most likely solution would be to install the latest drivers using
|||| the instructions at:
