Game cuts out

I bought Microsoft's Rise of Nations and I have a very new computer but
after about 45mins the game cuts out to the desktop and when I re load it it
cuts out to the desktop even quicker. It is not just this game that I am
having problems with. 3 other games do the same thing

WHY???

Have you tried the microsoft.public.games news group? You might be better posting your question there.
