G450 Matrox Millenium Dual Head

After installing Vista my display adapter will only display on one channel of
this dual head video adapter. Have tried to install the latest Matrox driver
but the self extracting driver file says it does not recognize the operating
system.
Trying to see if there is a compatability mode in Vista anyone got some
tricky workarounds they've tried?

This is how I got it working with my G450:
Let Vista update the driver:
Control panel|Hardware and Sound|Update device drivers, expand Display
adapters, right click on Matrox entry and select "Update Driver Software",
then "Search automatically for updated driver software".

This by itself didn't give dual head functionality. It installs an older
version of Power Desk. I used the Software Explorer tool in Windows Defender
to remove power desk from automatically starting.

Then downloaded latest XP driver for the card from Matrox. Once the software
is expanded into a folder I ran just the PDeskSE.msi by itself to install the
newer power desk. After Re-boot I was able to use the new power desk to
configure the dual head capabilities!

Thanks for the Tip Ron, gave it a shot ended up with Pdesk version 6.92.004
but it may be a little newer than what you used. Once I get to the Pdesk
controls for multidisplay the PDESK app crashes and burns.
I couldn't find an unbundled version of PdeskSE.msi, can you point me to the
driver version of adapter driver you used and the version of pdesk and where
you got the code?
