G & H keys don't function sometime

Dave

In a new Word document they function OK. When I edit
a .doc or type in a URL address in IE, the G & H keys do
not work. My antivirus cannot find anything and Ad-Aware
doesn't help solving this condition. I deleted old .doc
files and am ready to restore to a previous restore point
if I can't figure this out. Any ideas?

Try a different keyboard to see if the same thing happens.

Forgot to say the problem is on a laptop. Good idea
though, I'll plug in another keyboard and see if I still
have the problem.
