2nd h/d

I am thiking of adding a second h/d (120gb) as my current h/d (40gb) is nearly full. I intend to use the 2nd h/d for storeage, 'my docs' etc, and 1st h/d would be used for o/s and programme files
Is this the right approach and is there anything I need to be especially aware of
Also, would partitioning 2nd h/d be beneficial in any way

This would work just fine, but you might be better off to use the new drive
for your OS, as newer drives tend to have a larger cache and faster access
times than older one.

If you're using NTFS then you could leave the drive as one large partition,
but FAT32 will work better with smaller partitions. Even with NTFS I would
partition it if only for the reason that it will be quicker to defrag it.
Maybe three 40, or two 60 gig partitions.
