funny error msg in WD

On one computer I have real time protection turned off because of all the
check points it is making and I also want to test to see what happens with
this turned off.
WD is set to do a quick scan at 3pm.
I was in the middle of writing an email when all of a sudden right in front
of me a box popped up and said" "Windows Defender had an Error"- then it
went away.
I took a look at Event Viewer- nothing is in there to show what the error
is.
I brought up the program and it showed it did the scan.
In Event Viewer it shows it started the scan and finished the scan
Is there any other place I can check to see what this error was?
Windows Defender scan has finished.

Scan ID: {BC4A270C-ADE3-4BAC-90AF-50140C1599E4}

Scan Type: AntiSpyware

Scan Parameters: Quick Scan

So I have no idea what this error was all about

Also, since I do have real time protection off- I chose to click the Update
box"- it came back telling me it had no updates but I also noticed in Event
Viewer that there actually was an update. It should have said "updates are
being added to WD" or something like that. Not tell me WD is up to date
when it actually added an update-

The current wording for an actual update is what you are seeing--if there
is, in fact, no update, I believe it says so.
If there's nothing in the system or application event log at the time of
your error, then the other place there might be something is a text log file
in %windir%\temp-but I think the .log files there relate to updating mainly.
