Function Keys

Not sure if this is the right forum, but does anyone know the way to use the
Function keys at the top of the keyboard, or to reset them as shortcuts? I
am using XP media edition.
 
search yahoo/google for KEYBOARD MAGIC
very good ebook for keyboard stuff.
