My function key is locked and when I try to type letters - numbers appear. I
have to hold the function key in order to type. How do I turn the f-lock key
off?

You need to identify the make and model of your notebook so that someone
with an identical system can help. You could also check your notebook's
manual. Sometimes there's an electronic version of your computer's
manual in the "Start" menu system.

There MIGHT be a NUMPAD lock key near the top of your keypad that you
can press while holding a "FN" key. The Numpad lock key may be marked
with a rectangle with an array of little square blocks inside it.
