Funcres.xla is already open

I get this message when I open Excel. This is caused by the macros but I
need those functions to work. It wasn't giving me this before and it started
to do that a week ago.

Can somebody help me resolve this ?

Hi smily

In Excel, click on Tools | AddIns and see if funcres.xla is selected or not.
If selected, it will be open, as per the message. You do not have to open
it every time you want to use it, as it is always open then.

If this does not resolve your problem, some more detail as to when and how
this message is generated will be required - Do you try to open funcres.xla,
and then get this message. Do you try to run a procedure from this addin,
when you get this message, or is a macro trying to open this addin.

Hi,

I am not trying to open Funcres.xla. Each time I open an Excel file,
existing file or new file, the first time that Excel opens it gives me that
message. Because when it opens, it opens all the macros files needed. And I
have checked the Analysis Toolpack - VBA in the Add-ins because I need it for
some functions. When I uncheck this, it doesn't give me that message anymore.

The problem is that it wasn't giving me that problem before and I had the
Analysis Toolpack - VBA checked. How can I remove that question each I open
Excel ? It's like if the Funcres.xla didn't close, stayed open one time when
Excel was closed or maybe when my PC crashed once.

Help !

Thanks
Renée

Hi smily

OK, while I may be totally off track again, it seems as if you may have
copied funcres.xla into your macros folder. You know, the one which you use
when you select that Excel open all files in the specified folder on opening
Excel?

I say this because you state that you open all your required macros on
opening. Having selected the analysis toolpack, Excel automatically loads
funcres.xla, and on opening your macro files, it finds an additional copy of
funcres.xla, which would explain the warning message.

Check under Tools | Options | General which folder you selected opposite On
Startup, Open All Files in:. If you elected a folder here, check whether you
have a copy of funcres.xla in this folder. If you do, and you also have the
same file under your addins folder - C:\Documents and Settings\<User
Name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Addins, then delete the one under the
elected folder. If you have elected the addins folder, then untick this
option, or move your macro files to another folder, and elect that folder.
