Full Screen Ads

Now these ^$*&!)%@ advertisers are spawning full screen ads as I surf that
lack the standard minimize, restore and close buttons in the upper right and
completely cover the task bar on the bottom. The only way I know to close
these ads in via the task manager which, thank goodness, still works. But
as those of you who read and are smarter than me (probably 99%), that will
close all occurrences of IE, something I really don't want to do.

Is there another way to kill these ^$*&!)%@ ads?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Ad browser hijacker parasites can cause this.

Get SpyBot available from
http://tomcoyote.org/SPYBOT/ and update the reference files
through the Online update function.
Run it and select all items and remove.
You may have to reboot and rerun a couple of times to completely remove
them.
Also run the Immunize function to
prevent these nasties from installing again.

Install a good HOSTS file.
Blocking Ads, Parasites, and Hijackers with a Hosts File.
Download the hosts.zip file.

SpywareBlaster

Update the reference file through the online update function.

You can try the "alt-f4" command, but i am not sure if
that will kill the top window or the selected one.

I can not tell you how to stop the fullscreen popups but I
can tell you what will stop the popups in their tracks
period. The best part, IT'S FREE. It works very well for
me. Here we go,

1. Go to google.com
2. Click on Services & Tools
3. Scrow down and click on Google Toolbar (Read the page).
4. Download Google Toolbar 2.0 (beta). It contains popup
killer that really works. I have been using it for the
past 6 weeks and I can honestly say it's stopping popups
100%.

Good Luck.
