full removal of navexcel solved my problems

My browser was crashing when clicking on some links. I removed navexcel
with adaware as was suggested by some posts. This did not solve the
problem though. On further inspection I still had to uninstall the
program through control panel and delete the files under c:\program
files\navexcel

After doing this, my browser worked perfectly on all webpages that were
previously giving me the error "explorer has encountered a
problem......"
