Full Duplex or not Full Duplex that is the question?

All.

Sorry for the intrusion.

Is it possible to find out if the NIC is operating at full
duplex in Windows XP?

Looking at the properties of the Interface I can find out
that it is running at 100Mbps but not if it is full/half
duplex.

Any assistance gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately it is not exposed in the current XP UI.

Go to device manager and get the device properties there. It may show that
you hard configured for either, but if it's auto-negotiate you can suspect
your probably at half duplex since most commercial residential
hubs/routers/switches tend to run at half duplex.

Paul,

all switches all newer routers and a few hubs use full duplex,
which is probably the most common operating mode.

Many switches have a full duplex light for each port.
