We have W2K server setup where external users can access folders using
ftp. When a user running W2k professional accesses the ftp folder in
IE, they type in their login and password and everything works as
expected. Any user using XP professional gets an error message after
they try to to login that they the following error:

An error occurred opening the folder FTP server. Make sure you have
permission to access this folder. Details: 550/FolderName: The
system cannot find the file specified.

Is this an XP issue or W2k server problem?

TIA

I'd say it's a windows XP, but I wouldn't swear to it. Check the internet
explorer options on the XP machines, there should be something along the
lines of "Allow folder view for FTP". Disable that and see what happens.
