I have 2 Boxes that I am ftping to a Unix box from. Both are in to the same
switch and follow the same route to the Unix box. However one is incredibly
slow ftping from a Unix box (5 meg in 2 minutes) whilst the other is doing a
more respectable 80 meg in 2 minutes.

Both are running Windows 2000 sp2.

Also another twist is that ftping between the 2 boxes is very quick.

Does anyone know of any config that may affect the ftping performance or
have any suggestions ???

Thanks

Gary

Have u checked the NIC card properties to see if both are identical?

In my company which uses exactly same hardware , we have to sometimes change
the default line speed ( ie "hardware default" ) to 100 mbps full duplex for
the system to use full bandwith . other wise it seems to connect only at 10
mbps or slower.! The funny part is some other machines connected to the same
switch will work fine at 100 mbps with out any changes!
