Ftp question

I noticed that when I try to log onto my companies ftp
server that after inputting my username and password it
will log me in anonymously, I then have to log in again to
access any files. I've been told by the tech support
department of my ISP that this is an internet explorer
6 "bug". Does anybody have any thoughts on this issue?

Did you install these updates recently.

A security update was made available that modifies the default behavior of
Internet Explorer for handling user information in HTTP and in HTTPS URLs

Fix, if This problem occurs after you apply the 832894 security update
(MS04-004) or the 821814 hotfix.

password) to a Web server retry the POST request with a blank header if the
Web server closes (or resets) the initial connection request.
