FTP Folder Error

I have Windows 2000 server running and I set up a FTP site on my server. I
have no problems getting to my ftp site when i am in my network. However when
I try to do it from the internet or external to my network I am getting an
error that says

"an error occurred opening that folder on the FTP server. Make sure you have
permissions to access that folder: connection with the server was reset"

It used to work and now it doesnt. I dont recall changing anything since
the last time it worked a couple months ago. I am usually able to figure out
all my FTP issues but this one is driven me up the wall. I know all the
permissions are correct.... any help anyone could provide would be greatly
appreciated...

First, there is an FTP group in the IIS hierarchy you may want to post
in.

Try the command line FTP client so you can see the response codes.
Check that your firewall or ISP isn't blocking port 21. Check that
the folder hasn't moved, and that adequate permissions exist for what
you're trying to do under the account you're using.
