It was suggested to me to use an "FTP application to
upload large files" to a FP subweb. Can someone tell me
what an FTP application is, where I can find one, and how
to use it?

Thanks

Who suggested this to you? Don't do it. Use FrontPage.

I suggested this.

Stephen,

You can use Frontpage to also FTP you files to the
SubWeb site.

The following should work for you: You need to
know the proper directory that the files for your site
will be going to on the SubWeb, usually its like the
following example: ftp://<domain site.com>/public_html/

Then frontpage will ask you for a user name and password
for FTP access, or if you have unrestricted FTP access
setup no user name or password would be required.

Hopefully this will work for your situation.
