Hi I've been working on a word document off my laptop when the screen froze
and all controls went unresponsive. I am currently running xp home edition
and I would like to be able to reboot without losing my progress. If I lose
my document it will take me several hours to catch up. The shortcuts I've
already tried are ctrl+alt+delete and alt+tab with neither working. Is my
only solution to take a picture of the screen with a camera?

Thank You

If you have AutoSave enabled in Word then you will be able to recover your
document. Best to ask the experts in an MS Word newsgroup how to do this.

Have you got the Tools | Options > Save > Autorecover checked. I
believe it is by default. And if was checked then the document would
automatically be recovered to some extent when you restart.

But a screen pic by camera would be a good idea.

Save early & save often - just like a supposed mantra of one of our
regions which said "Vote early, vote often"..
