I am trying to add a link on my web site for people to download meeting minutes. The actual minutes are in either Word or Adobe format, and open just fine in "preview:; however when the actual web site is live, they won't open (message is the files are not available). Do the documents need to be in the the web site "files" that are sent to the server? HELLLLLLLPPPPP!! Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. You need to place the files inside your web and then publish them to the
server.

Since the server is the entity which returns the files to the browser, I
would think that having them on the server would be very helpful.
