Frontpage web component to 'search current web' - problem

G

Guest

I used the Frontpage web component to 'search current web'

When I test this on my published website I get the message ' Service is not
running'

My host is a leading provider and my account is set up to run Frontpage
extensions.

The support at the host said that it's a recognised problem that this
component uses excessive resources that impacts other customers and so it
cannot be run.

Apparently other clients write their own script.

Can anyone help with something simple to enable my site to be searched by
visitors?

thanks
Chris

Your host must create a catalog in Index Server for your account in order
for the search to work. Otherwise, they must disable Index Server and use
the FP WAIS search. If they are not willing to do either, get a new host.
